Additional Info:
This is our second year bringing in some amazing coffees from India via our relationship with KaadKaapi coffee collective. We ended up settling on this really nice natural process coffee from coffee producer Petu Kariappa's farm Harangal Estate, located in Coorg.

Coorg has a long agricultural tradition, and Petu’s family has been part of that story since 1984. After completing his studies, he returned to India in 1988 to take up coffee farming, guided by the expertise of his mother’s cousin, a respected estate manager and consultant in the region. Petu credits much of his early development as a grower to that mentorship. Today, Harangal Estate spans 100 acres planted to about 60% Arabica and 40% Robusta coffee.

KaadKaapi is a collective of coffee farmers in India who all share a love of their land and a passion for Wildlife, Nature and Coffee. The members of KaadKaapi are dedicated to ensuring the long term sustainability of coffee and a commitment to supporting wildlife conservation on their lands in India. They provide farmers with access to finance, advisement to produce high quality coffees, and handle exportation of these specialty coffees to international markets. Their coffee estates are cultivated in the hills of the Western Ghats of India, which is recognized as one of the world's eight biodiversity hotspots. It is extraordinarily rich in unique species and contains more than 30 percent of all plant, fish, reptile, amphibian, bird and mammal species found in India. The southern Western Ghats has the largest contiguous tiger and single largest Asiatic Elephant populations in the world.

In the cup this coffee offers a really nice textural experience and has some savory properties which make it stand apart from any of our other offerings. We predominantly keep getting a big Malt note that feels like we are enjoying some Malted Milk Balls or a Malted Milk Shake. It's kind of toasty, creamy and slightly nutty all together. Many customers really enjoyed the India lots we brought in last year, we’re sure this one will be equally enjoyed. This one really shines in espresso and immersion brewing.
